Workiva Implementation Director

Citrin Cooperman is seeking a highly experienced Workiva Implementation Director to join our growing CFO Solutions and Technology group within our Digital and Cloud Services practice. This role is pivotal in driving successful client outcomes through the implementation of Workiva’s cloud-based platform, shaping delivery strategy, and mentoring a high-performing team.  You will collaborate across sales, delivery, and the Workiva partner teams to ensure project excellence and grow our practice.  

Responsibilities 

• Manage a portfolio of client relationships, ensuring delivery excellence, account growth and long-term strategic alignment 

• Oversee end-to-end execution of Workiva implementation projects, ensuring alignment with design, scope and quality standards 

• Manage and mentor a team of consultants, including offshore resources, across 10-15 concurrent projects per quarter. 

• Collaborate with Workiva Services Engagement Managers to translate strategic business needs into executable technical solutions and scalable architectures. 

• Guide solution design and ensure optimal use of Workiva functionalities to automate and streamline client processes. 

• Identify and mitigate implementation risks 

• Monitor project profitability and resource utilization to meet financial targets. 

• Support revenue forecasting, pipeline management, and strategic planning for the Workiva implementation practice 

• Lead pre-sales activities including client discovery sessions, proposal development, and scoping of implementation efforts. 

• Partner with Workiva sales teams to drive revenue growth and expand client relationships. 

• Contribute to the evolution of Citrin Cooperman’s Workiva service offerings, including methodology development, accelerators, and reusable assets. 

• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, advocating for best practices in platform integration and reporting automation. 

• Lead recruiting, onboarding, and training initiatives to grow the Workiva Services team, with a focus on Connected Reporting capabilities. 

• Develop and implement training programs to accelerate team readiness and delivery excellence. 

• Lead the evolution of our offshore delivery model and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. 

• Collaborate with other Citrin Cooperman practices to deliver integrated solutions that span finance, risk and technology. 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Information Technology, or related field  

• 10+ years of experience in financial reporting system implementation within a professional services firm 

• 4+ years of hands-on Workiva implementation or solution consulting experience 

• Strong understanding of account and financial reporting processes 

• Proven ability to lead enterprise-level reporting strategy discussions  

• Experience managing competing priorities across multiple project teams 

• Demonstrated success mentoring and developing technical consulting teams 

• Effective communicator with ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders 

• Strong familiarity with Excel and data analysis tools 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Big Four consulting experience 

• Experience with:  

• ETL tools (e.g., Alteryx, Boomi, Mulesoft)  

• ERP software (e.g., Workday, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP)  

• GRC software (e.g., Archer, ServiceNow, Diligent, AuditBoard)  

• Multidimensional reporting software (e.g., Planful, Essbase, SAP BW)  

• Data warehousing, data marts, or desktop databases (e.g., Snowflake) 

• Visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI) 

• Intermediate proficiency with Python, SQL, JSON, and/or REST APIs 

• Domain expertise in fund reporting, statutory reporting, or regulatory reporting
