TITLE:                        Data Scientist

LOCATION:               7265 Windsor Boulevard, Suite 106, Windsor Mill, MD 21244

DUTIES:

Responsible for researching and analyzing data and forming insights and predictions to support the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) initiatives to increase price transparency for healthcare consumers through price shopping alternatives. Create data visualizations that tell stories in order for stakeholders and end users to understand problem spaces and lead to insights. Collaborate with the Human Centered Design Lead to collect data from healthcare industry research, academic research, public data sets, Medicare claims data, web analytics data, ideation sessions with clients, and qualitative and quantitative user research. Utilize data to support the product design process in a way that reflects and responds to the functional, social, and emotional behavior of users. Build predictive models, data visualizations, and tools for analysis. Build AI tools that automate processes, recommendation engines, and automated lead scoring systems.  Provide insights through the combination of qualitative design research and exploratory data analysis. Work in an agile work environment, delivering incremental product functionality in short iterations. Select features, build, and optimize classifiers using machine learning techniques. Conduct data mining using state-of-the-art methods including clustering, pattern tracking, classification, or regression.  Enhance data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems. Process, clean, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis. Perform ad-hoc analysis and present results in a clear manner. Create an automated anomaly detection system and maintain consistent tracking of its performance. Participate in product discussions with the product owner, users, and the development team to understand and refine acceptance criteria and estimate user stories. Position is eligible for 100% remote work.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or a closely related field; 5 years of experience in working on Data Science development projects; writing Python, PySpark and R scripts to perform Extract-Transform-Load data activities and conduct data analysis; using Jupyter notebooks to execute scripts; of which 3 years must include experience working in Relational Databases using any of the following: Oracle, MySQL, or MS SQLServer; utilizing AWS SageMaker; with AWS Services including s3; AWS managed databases including any of the following: Dynamo DB, RedShift, or Amazon RDS; with supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques including NLP (Natural Language Processing), Classification, Regression, and Clustering;  with data visualization tools including any of the following: Denodo, AWS QuickSight, Tableau, or Power BI; of which 2 years must include experience leading small or medium sized data science teams as a team lead, tech lead, or project manager. Must be able to obtain a

Public Trust Clearance. Position is eligible for 100% remote work.
 

SALARY:

$150,000-$170,000 per year

The salary range provided represents the estimated compensation for new hires in this position, applicable across all locations. Actual offers may vary based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and market conditions.
