A Brief Overview

The API Developer II will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining APIs and system integrations that support the club's digital ecosystem. This role will leverage Microsoft Azure integration services—including Azure API Management (APIM), Application Gateway, Logic Apps, and C# .NET API applications—to build scalable and secure solutions. The developer will collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to ensure seamless data flow and interoperability between platforms such as Salesforce, Workday, Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Commerce, Paycom, BlackLine, Jira, and ServiceNow. This developer will work with other developers to assist when possible and work with the senior developers where additional assistance is needed.

What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain APIs and integrations using Azure services (APIM, Logic Apps, Application Gateway, C# API Apps, etc.) Stay current on the best practices for API design and identify areas of improvement. Work with senior developers to increase knowledge and validate solutions. 25%
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to gather integration requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Work with Project Managers and Scrum Masters to schedule/plan API development work needed for projects.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize integration performance and reliability
- Maintain technical documentation for APIs and integration workflows, development processes, standards.
- Ensure security, scalability, and compliance of integration solutions. Work with the information security team and senior developers to validate solutions prior to implementation. Stay current on best practices regarding security and implement
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes. Utilize current CI/CD strategy to ensure consistent deployment practices. Implement automated tests reduce regression testing time. Work with QA resources to validate any new development is working as expected. Help build testing plans for UAT that validate different areas/functionality of APIs used through integration between multiple systems. 10%
- Work with Architects and senior developers to build out an API library through collaboration with the Applications and Data teams to create reusable assets rather than single use point to point APIs. Think strategically and develop for future re-use while selecting technologies that reduce the maintenance burden on development teams.
