The Supply Chain Project Lead is responsible for ensuring all materials are available to support the production schedule and on-time customer delivery. This role focuses on ensuring purchase order execution, facilitating and/or leading issue resolution, driving cross functional engagement and serves as an escalation point- collaborating closely with Category Managers, Engineering, Warehousing, Operations and assigned Customer. The Lead must be agile, action oriented, highly organized, and capable of balancing priorities in a fast-paced environment, ensuring parts flow seamlessly through the supply chain to production.
Primary Duties
· Bill of Material Readiness
o Review and validate BOMs (Buyout list) for accuracy and completeness before order placement.
o Identify missing part data and proactively resolve with Engineering/Design teams.
o Ensure buyout lists are issued in a timely manner to support on-time order placement in alignment
with required schedules.
· Supplier Delivery Readiness
o Ensure lead-times with suppliers meet production schedule requirements; highlight risks and
escalate where needed.
o Validate purchase orders (POs) are placed in the required timeframe to support production
requirements.
o Collaborate with Category Managers on supplier performance issues, escalating when corrective
action is required.
o Ensures all Procurement activities are carried out with a high sense of urgency.
· Cross-Functional Coordination
o Partner with Category Managers to ensure agreements and preferred supplier contracts are in place.
o Work with Warehousing teams to ensure parts are received, inspected, and staged/isolated for
production readiness.
o Participate in internal and external (Customer led) project/program team meetings to provide supply
chain updates, flag risks, and propose mitigation plans.
· Mitigate Delivery Issues & Continuous Improvement
o Work with buyers to identify and resolve procurement or delivery delays, securing engagement from
stakeholders across Engineering, Operations, and suppliers.
o Support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to material shortages or delivery risks.
o Contribute to process improvement initiatives, including standardizing expediting protocols and
escalation pathways
· Performance & Reporting
o Track and report material readiness status, highlighting risks to production schedules.
o Support tactical supply chain KPIs such as on-time delivery to production, supplier adherence to
lead-times, PO cycle times, and expedite responsiveness.
o Provide clear and timely updates to project teams and leadership.
