This position is an hourly position responsible for the performance of routine safety and maintenance functions, building maintenance, event support, and the overall support of Holland Hall’s mission.  This position works closely with maintenance, safety and athletic departments.




Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, the employee in this position shall be responsible for, but not limited to the following safety and maintenance functions:

  • Performs daily routine building and parking lot security checks

  • Patrol of campus for safety 

  • Provides courteous and considerate assistance to all students, staff, and visitors

  • Addresses and redirects individuals and groups who do not have permission to use or access facilities

  • Provides coverage for special events as needed

  • Assist emergency response units on campus as needed

  • Performs minor and major repair of all buildings and equipment as needed

  • Completes checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures

  • Provides vehicle assistance to students, staff, and visitors as needed

  • Responds to accidents, theft, fire, and other emergencies.  Writes reports as needed

  • Move furniture and equipment as needed

  • Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required

  • Performs custodial duties such as snow removal as required

  • Assists in the recommendation, development and implementation of improvements to procedures to ensure effective operations and best practices in the areas of building and grounds management, planned maintenance and energy management

  • Other duties as required to fulfill the overall mission of Holland Hall

  • A high school graduate or GED

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work with various school and volunteer organizations in a collaborative and friendly manner

  • An ability to deal with people and perform under stress and when confronted with an emergency situation.

  • Ability to use the computer to correspond through email and access the work order system.

  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to meet facility insurance requirements

  • Articulate information in an emergency situation

  • Visual acuity necessary to observe and comprehend movement of individuals

  • Regular attendance is required for successful completion of job duties




  • Ability to work standing / bending for several hours at a time

  • Ability to lift 50-80 pounds when necessary

  • Good close, distance, and color vision and depth perception

  • Duties may be performed outdoors in all weather conditions

  • This position is primarily a weekend position or as scheduled by the Facilities Manager
