This position pays a $2.00 per hour shift differential for hours worked from 11pm Friday through 11pm Sunday for both FT and PT employees.

 

The Brian Program is a group home in a community setting for adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  We are looking for direct support professionals to make a positive difference with the Consumers in the program.  The goal of each Consumer is to learn independence, which is driven by their Behavior Support Plan.  You will work within a diverse population within the special needs community and family.  If you are looking for an opportunity to make a difference and change lives for the better, then this job could be for you!  On a daily basis, you can expect to:

  • Relate with adolescents, understand what they are going through in their lives and build rapport
  • Attend and accompany academic events, shopping, community integration, socialization skills, family reunification, and medical visits
  • Show adolescents that they can change their lives on their own by giving them direction
  • Use positive reinforcement and other techniques to keep adolescents on the right track
  • Assist in teaching life skills, such as cooking, laundry, chores and cleaning
  • Get moving and go outside to play basketball, tennis, hiking, bean bag toss and other activities
  • Lead by example and have a positive mindset
  • Assist youth with bathing, feeding, grooming and other daily living skills
  • Assist with medication administration

 

Full time and part time positions are available.

What do you need?

This position requires either a High School Diploma or equivalent, or a Bachelor's Degree.  Experience working with adolescents is preferred but not required.  You must have a valid driver’s license in good standing.

 

Legacy will train you on CPR, First Aid, Nurtured Heart, Safe Crisis Management and Ukeru.
