JOB SUMMARY

The Floor Technician reports to the Environmental Services Director and has the responsibility for the maintenance of all floor areas, and for sustaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.  The Floor Technician will operate floor sweepers, buffers, strippers, and various types of vacuums. The Floor Technician respectfully interacts with all residents, family members, visitors, colleagues, and staff. This is a safety sensitive position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Cleaning offices, hallways, common areas, and other areas as assigned.
  • Moves furniture before and after cleaning.
  • Cleaning, dusting, mopping, stripping, and waxing floors.
  • Measures and utilizes cleaning chemicals correctly.
  • Labeling chemicals correctly.
  • Cleaning, maintaining and storing equipment.
  • Scheduling cleaning and maintenance of floor areas.
  • Reporting maintenance issues to supervisor.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.

The essential mental and physical functions listed below are required in order for an employee to be able to perform the essential functions of this position.

  • Ability to read and write, follow written and verbal instructions, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Thinking critically; defined as reading, understanding and taking appropriate action on detailed and complex information
  • Standing long periods of time
  • Walking long distances daily
  • Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
  • Repetitive actions/motion of one or both hands
  • Hearing ordinary conversation and office sounds
  • Verbal communication in person and on the phone
  • Written communication by hand and on PC.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Floor maintenance experience preferred
