EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree in Mechatronics, Controls/Automation or Engineering field: 1+ year of automation/controls development and implementation experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret customer requirements and specifications. Ability to write reports and programs, and to effectively present information to customers and company management.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Excellent technical, financial, organizational, and "process flow" analytical ability.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team
- Experience in agile development methodologies is considered an asset
- Knowledge of a wide range of technical methods, principles, and practices
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with PLCs (Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Bosch), SCADA (Rockwell), HMIs (Rockwell/Siemens), VFDs, servos, and network design
- Familiarity with programming languages such as C++, Python, or Java is considered an asset
- Familiarity with control measures and electrical safety designs based on hazard analysis
- Experience in robotic applications with major brands (Fanuc, KUKA, Kawasaki) and their programming
- Ability to work with customers, project managers, designers, toolmakers, and electricians to solve problems and provide complete automation systems
TRAVEL
Must be willing and able to travel approximately 30- 50% domestically. International travel might be required. A valid driver’s license and good driving record are required. Excellent driving skills and clean driving record are required.
