We have an wonderful opportunity for a Senior Accountant at our Corporate office.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Reconciles and maintains schedules on various general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries for posting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Tracks and reconciles intercompany transfers.
  • Performs grant management including budget preparation, submitting draws, and grant compliance.
  • Performs and reconciles fund accounting.
  • Approves payroll submitted expenses and prepares journal entry allocation entry and bank transfers for payroll funding.
  • Prepares cash receipt entries for bank transfers.
  • Prepares investment account journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Manages credit card purchases and approve charges.
  • Serves as the liaison between the third-party IT support company and employees.
  • Oversees internal financial statement review and accruals.
  • Prepares external governmental reporting to HUD and MSHDA.
  • Assists with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Assists in preparing supporting documents for annual audits of financial statements.
  • Comply with federal, state and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Engages in ongoing educational opportunities to update job knowledge.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Requirements:

  • Associates degree in accounting.
  • Have a minimum of 2-5 years of accounting experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • General business and non-profit experience (preferred).
  • Experience with multi-entity organizations (preferred).
  • Experience with Blackbaud’s Financial Edge software (beneficial but not required).
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Critical thinking: uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Deductive reasoning: apply general rules to problems to produce answers that make sense.
