Description

St. Patrick Catholic School in Corpus Christi is seeking exceptional individuals for the following position: Part-Time Teacher’s Aide.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent. 
  • Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English. 
  • Must be able to respond to the needs of children.
  • Non-Catholic teacher aides are required to have knowledge of the Catholic faith and support the goals of Catholic tradition in education.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License
  • Submit to employment required screenings, criminal background, drug screening, and MVR
  • Obtain certification in Safe Environment training provided by the Office of Safe Environment and Child and Family Resources                             
  • Position requires adherence to diocesan policies and procedures

 

  • The teacher aide will provide assistance to the teacher(s) as the instructional program necessitates.
  • Supervise individual students and small groups of students as learning activities are implemented.
  • Assist in preparing instructional materials and bulletin boards.
  • Able to use multimedia material and equipment to reinforce lesson presentations.
  • Perform clerical work as needed.
  • Supervise students during activities, as assigned by the teacher(s) or the Principal.
  • Plan instruction/activities together with the teacher(s).
  • Attend in-services and workshops as directed by the Principal.
  • Performs other duties as directed by the teacher(s) and/or the Principal.
  • Skill in handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Skill in demonstrating professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits.
  • Knowledge of child development, learning, and behavior preferred
  • Skill in motivating and engaging students in the learning process.
  • Skill in collaborating with peers to enhance the work environment and support instructional planning.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding school matters.
  • Ability to manage student behavior in a classroom setting.
  • Ability to work well with others in the school community.
