Job Description

Title: School of Logic Recess Coordinator

Reports to: School of Logic Head

Status: Part-time; 1-2 hours (M/W/F)

BASIC FUNCTION: The School of Logic Recess Coordinator will supervise students and volunteers during his or her designated recess periods to ensure student safety.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Oversee parent volunteers during recess to ensure that they are actively monitoring students.

2. Monitor students during recess to ensure safe play.

3. Determine the best action to take to address any student disciplinary issues.

4. Notify the School of Logic Head of any safety hazards noticed during recess.

5. Work with volunteers and teachers to move students in a timely manner to and from recess.

Qualifications

Required Personal Qualities:

1. Have received Jesus Christ as his/her personal Savior and believe that the Bible is Gods Word and standard for faith and daily living.

2. Be in whole-hearted agreement with Veritas Academys Statements of Faith and Mission.

3. Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and action toward others (Luke 6:40). This includes being committed to Gods biblical standards for sexual conduct.

4. Be a Christian who is, and will remain during the period of employment, an active member of a Christ-centered church, growing in his/her Christian relationship with God, and actively practicing and exhibiting Christian principles of the Christian faith.

5. Be spiritually mature and consistently maintain a daily devotional and prayer life.

6. Recognize the role of parents as primarily responsible before God for their childrens education and be prepared to assist them in that task.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Heightened awareness of their surroundings and ability to locate any out of the ordinary occurrences.

2. Effective verbal communication skills, both one-on-one and in front of a group.

3. Ability to remain focused on the task at hand when surrounded by various distractions.

4. Ability to effectively supervise a group of peers.

Preferred Education and Experience:

1. 1 year experience in a related role

Physical Demands:

1. Take CPR and first aid training and be willing and able to render such aid when necessary.

2. Perform child restraint if necessary.
