General Description:

Incumbent will be responsible for qualifying, enrolling, administering, and maintaining records of Potentially Eligible Persons (PEP) for programs being offered onsite. This role will work closely with the Pantry Coordinator and provide support to other team members in providing direct services to neighbors.

 

Essential Functions:

Ability to foster a collaborative and supportive relationship with the Pantry Coordinator, with the flexibility to seamlessly step into each other's roles when required, ensuring uninterrupted assistance to our neighbors in need.

Screen and administer enrollment of eligible neighbors to participate in programs offered at NBFB such as but not limited to - food assistance, senior program, children’s program, home delivery, etc.

Oversee the intake application process conducted by a team of Apple Corps volunteers and ensure a standard procedure is maintained to provide neighbors an excellent costumer service.

Oversee the administrative duties associated with neighbor enrollment process such as but not limited to collection of data, data entry, reporting, verification of neighbor’s identification, scheduling future appointments, check-in during appointments, etc.

Monitor and ensure that the monthly activity calendar is updated by other team members to be released two months in advance.

Closely collaborate with the Pantry Coordinator to ensure uninterrupted service towards neighbors needing assistance.

Assist the Pantry Coordinator in the distribution of products that are subject to TEFAP audit and ensure proper documentation.

Assist the Receptionist when necessary.

Monitor the shared schedule email and ensure that neighbors requesting for appointments are answered at a timely manner.

Ability to obtain forklift certification, operate the forklift and pallet jack as necessary to complete job responsibilities.

Develop strategic plan goals of helping food insecure clients gain improved access to services and food.

Represent the New Braunfels Food Bank at meetings as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must be available to work 5 days a week including Saturdays and weekdays, work after standard hours of operation, and selected holidays.

Must have valid a reliable transportation.

Experience and commitment to working with diverse and low-income populations.

Must have strong organizational skills.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, computer applications systems, and database management.

College degree from an accredited educational institution.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

Ability to work cooperatively with other Food Bank staff and volunteers.

Ability to present a professional demeanor under a variety of conditions.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Bilingual - English & Spanish

Retail and merchandising experience

College degree preferred in relevant field or equivalent work experience.

Work Environment

This job is performed both indoors and outdoors. You may be required to drive to different locations with varying conditions. The outdoor work environment may have diverse weather conditions at times, such as severe heat and cold. You may be required to drive to different locations with varying conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
