The Northbrook Park District is seeking Fitness Center Member Associates at our new recreation and fitness facility, Techny Prairie Activity Center. You’ll be able to use your interest in fitness and exercise and your customer service skills to foster a welcoming environment for our fitness members and guests.

Pay & Shift Information

Starting at $15/hour. Member Associates need to have flexibility with shift hours and days.

Duties & Responsibilities

Greet members and guests upon arrival, assist with basic equipment operation and engage with members and guests. Ensure fitness areas are organized and clean for patrons. Work closely with personal trainers, fitness instructors, and customer service representatives to provide exceptional customer service to members and guests.

Must be 16 years or older with an interest in fitness and exercise. Have the ability to recognize issues, problem solve and resolve them independently. Needs to communicate effectively, possess a customer service focus and be able to interact positively with members. Must have a CPR/AED certification or the ability to obtain within one (1) month of hire. Some knowledge of fitness and fitness equipment use is preferred.

Physical Requirements

Required to sit, stand, walk, bend, talk and hear; use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities are required and include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Lifting is a requirement in terms or demonstrating use of equipment and providing demonstrations for customers of how to use various fitness equipment within your own limitations. Should provide demonstration using minimum weight on equipment.
