Recovery Network of Programs, Inc. (RNP), is a private, non-profit, social service agency which has been serving the Greater Bridgeport Community and Fairfield County area since 1972. RNP is dedicated to helping those living with substance use, mental health disorders, and homelessness. Our mission is to restore hope, health, and wellbeing for individuals and families in a recovery environment that embraces compassion, dignity, and respect.

 

New Prospects - located in Bridgeport, Connecticut is uniquely positioned to offer gender-specific co-occurring enhanced intensive residential services to adult men and women. This program is designed to provide services for individuals who are experiencing difficulties stabilizing their substance abuse and mental health issues and seek short-term intensive treatment of approximately 30 days. Individual, family, and psychiatric services are provided on-site. The program accepts men and women age eighteen and up who are assessed with high severity of mental health symptoms who may also require medication-assisted treatment support with methadone or suboxone.

 

Hours: Monday, Saturday and Sunday 4:00pm to 12:00am

 

CORE FUNCTIONS

  • Interacts with all clients and family members in a respectful, professional and compassionate manner.
  • Supervises urinalysis collection for same gender and assists with unsupervised urinalysis collection for those of the opposite gender as required; completes associated documentation.
  • Monitor and supervise all meals and Fresh Air breaks.
  • Complete daily room checks and participate in the searches of client room; to ensure safety and security.
  • Assist in the intake process for all newly admitted clients.
  • Understands group dynamics/processes, facilitates groups with a focus on integrated care and documents efforts via individualized clinical notes.
  • Provides information and education to individuals, groups and families concerning COD.
  • Assist with duties related to the discharge process; including ensuring all belongings are procured, medications and prescriptions are in the clients possession, and that any necessary paperwork is completed.
  • Conducts observed self-administration of medications as per medication orders and documents all on MAR.
  • Assumes all other appropriate duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor.

CORE COMPETENCIES

CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor's degree in the behavioral sciences and two (2) years experience in counseling preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to function independently and as part of a team.
  • Considerable knowledge of Federal and State laws and regulations regarding client confidentiality.
  • Understanding of the issues that individuals with substance abuse and mental health issues experience.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships. Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to project a professional image.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES

  • Incumbents may be required to secure professional certification and/or license.
  • Valid Connecticut drivers license may be required.
