Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team at our chemical manufacturing facility in Institute, WV. This role will be responsible for operating manual machining and CNC automated machines, including lathes and milling machines, to fabricate and repair components such as pump shafts, custom sleeves, and various machined parts. The ideal candidate will have chemical industry experience working with pumps and pump shafts and be proficient in precision measuring instruments to ensure high-quality work.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate manual and CNC automated machining equipment, including lathes and milling machines.
  • Machine pump shafts, drill and tap various components, and build custom sleeves.
  • Perform machining tasks in accordance with engineering specifications and safety standards.
  • Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, dial gauges, etc.) to verify part accuracy and quality.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to support equipment reliability.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following all company safety protocols.

 

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Must have experience with both manual machining and CNC automated machining.
  • Chemical industry experience with pumps and pump shafts required.
  • Proficient with precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, and dial gauges.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and follow detailed machining instructions.
  • Strong understanding of machining tolerances, material properties, and cutting techniques.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and maintaining machining equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality assurance.
