Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare and process accurate semi-monthly payroll in Paycom for approximately 250 employees in NJ/NY/PA, including all employee status changes.
  • Accountable for all aspects of payroll including General Ledger reporting, W4 changes, direct deposits, non-exempt wage calculations, voluntary and non-voluntary deductions, garnishments, salary adjustments, bonuses and preliminary W2 review.
  • Process all taxes and ensure accuracy of related forms and reports for IRS compliance, including preliminary W2 review.
  • Review and approve all non-exempt timesheets and track billable and non-billable overtime.
  • Perform payroll audits as needed to ensure accuracy.
  • Work with the HR team on payroll related items including benefit deductions, 401(k) and HSA contributions, leave of absences and disability, onboarding of new employees, termination of existing employees, documentation retention, etc.
  • Respond to/resolve payroll questions and provide quality customer service.
  • Generate data reports for Management, Accounting, Marketing, Benefits, Human Resources, etc. as needed.
  • Assist in development of overall payroll procedures by recommending improvements or changes when deemed necessary for greater efficiency.
  • Complete year end payroll checklist and assist with HR year end tasks.

 

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility, responsiveness, adaptability, and ability to function well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be proficient in Excel. 
  • Leadership and ability to work proactively and independently in a team environment.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field.
  • At least 5+ years’ Payroll experience (Paycom preferred) in a professional setting.
  • HRIS and Benefits Administration experience helpful.
