Role Overview:
The Department Manager is a highly engaged and service-minded leader who is tasked with operating a profitable and customer-centric floor/area through the successful development of a team that can consistently deliver results. Through fostering an engaging and inclusive environment where employees are motivated and supported to do their best, you consistently achieve sales goals, operational objectives, and merchandising standards. Responsible for all aspects of managing one or two floors/areas of the store, you curate the client’s experience through customer service and visual impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve and exceed sales goals through leading outstanding selling techniques, clienteling, events, sourcing new customers, and building strong relationships with existing customers
- Lead clientele initiatives to attract, recruit, develop, retain, and engage a client network for the store.
- Assign targeted quantitative and qualitative goals to sales professionals and ensure they are achieved by communicating on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis and providing constructive feedback
- Identify and develop the strengths of each member of the team, supporting professional growth through training and coaching.
- Support in recruiting the sales staff
- Ensure current policies and procedures are correctly followed and respected.
- Assist in the induction of new staff and ongoing training initiatives.
- Take all the necessary measures to ensure loss prevention and safety in the store.
- Actively support the operations in-store to ensure all areas of the business are organized and well run to drive top-line sales.
- Instilling a common sense of standards and creating a culture of professionalism throughout the organization

Key Requirements:
- Retail management and expertise within a luxury business for at least 3 years
- Specific understanding of the Comme des Garçons aesthetic, consumer, and sub-brands. Previous experience in selling CDG brands is beneficial
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Collaborative spirit and proactive attitude
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and store/company needs which may include days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are required.
