Description

Internship positions available in the following programs:

Provider Relations, Ombudsman, Ombudsman Volunteer, Older Americans Act, Medicaid Waiver, and more

Statement of Purpose:  Direction Home of Eastern Ohio periodically employs interns for specific periods when they are not in school.  The following policy is to outline responsibilities and to ensure such student workers have a productive stay with the company.

Student Intern Responsibilities:

As a student intern enters the Agency he/she is expected to assume, as much as possible, the role of a regular staff member which shall include the following:

  • Adhering to DHEO’s company policies, procedures and code of conduct.
  • Adhering to DHEO’s company policies governing the observation of confidentiality and the handling of confidential information.
  • Assuming personal and professional responsibility for his/her actions and activities.
  • Maintaining professional relationships with company employees, customers and so forth.
  • Providing consistent and punctual submission of all work assignments, updating the supervisor with periodic progress reports.

Qualifications

Student interns must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.  Student interns must hold a valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance with the ability to travel throughout our four-county service area (Ashtabula, Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties).  COVID-19 Vaccination required.
