What will you do?

As a member of the Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing (ATDM) initiative, you will develop curriculum and training exercises that will lead to the certification of participants in the following skilled trades:  Additive Manufacturing, CNC Machining, Non-destructive Testing, Metrology, and Welding.   The Curriculum Developer will continuously engage with the instructional teams to ensure the ATDM training programs are properly measuring outcomes as they are related to the competencies defined by the defense industrial base. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with the ability to work independently and effectively in a team-oriented environment.

 

Where will you work?

We are looking for staff to work onsite in Danville, VA.  There may be opportunities to work remotely as business needs allow.

What do you offer?

  • •    Bachelor’s degree and experience in workforce development required. A degree in Business Management, Leadership, Education, or related fields is preferred.
    •    5 years of manufacturing experience, preferred
    •    Experience in CNC machining, quality/metrology, additive manufacturing, or welding desired.
    •    Knowledge of and experience with K12 and post-secondary education, with non-credit workforce training experience required.
    •    Demonstrated ability to develop meaningful relationships and partnerships.
    •    CAD/CAM and parametric modeling experience.
    •    Industrial experience or experience working with industrial partners in education is preferred.
    •    Curriculum development experience is required, and teaching experience is preferred with a background in adult education.
    •    Must have experience with LMS.
    •    The ability to communicate both orally and written is required.
    •    Experience with Microsoft Office products.

Why is the position open?

Because of the growth of our campus through success in our many programs, we’re looking for a Advanced Manufacturing Curriculum Developer.  Due of the success of our Manufacturing Advancement team in executing the Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing (ATDM) Program in partnership with the Department of the Navy, this is a new position supported by a contract that has been awarded through April 2025.  While IALR will continue to request funding beyond 2025 - it is not guaranteed.
