Summary/Objective:

As a member of the Childcare Team, the Childcare Worker will minister to families through ensuring the safety, security and supervision of children ages birth – 12 years old.

Responsibilities: 

• Work alongside other staff to ensure children are provided a safe and enriching environment.
• Observe and monitor children’s activities.
• Participate in children’s play activities, including teaching Bible curriculum when available.
• Serve refreshments to children as needed.
• Change diapers as needed.
• Sanitize toys and play equipment.
• Follow all childcare safety and discipline policies.
• Communicate pertinent information to parents and the event’s Childcare Lead.
• Complete incident reports as directed by the event’s Childcare Lead.
• Follow appropriate children check in/out procedures.
• Ensure room is clean and prepared for the next group who will be using the room.

Time Requirement:

This position will be limited, as scheduled for on-going events or for special one-time events.  This may include mornings, afternoons, evening, weekend, or holiday hours.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a classroom/church setting and requires interaction with children and adults.

Professional/Education

1. Must be at least 16 years old.
2. Experience in childcare a plus.
3. Strong attendance record with past/current employment, if applicable.
4. Must be able to work as a team member.
5. Must be able to use logic and reasoning to solve problems.
6. Must possess excellent listening skills.
7. Must be flexible and willing to work where assigned.
8. Ability to think and act quickly during emergencies.
