Description

Summary of Position: Responsible for prep and production as needed. Receiving and storing all deliveries as they arrive. Upkeep of the employee cafeteria. Helping to maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen.

Primary Functions:
To prep vegetables and recipes as directed by Executive chef (EC) and Sous chefs(SC)
Stay focused and calm at all times
Be able to adapt to business levels
Assist in preparing staff meal
Maintain and stock the cafeteria with food and condiments
Assist EC and SC check in all product as it arrives
Properly shelve and rotate all product according to F.I.F.O. (first in first out)
Properly ice down all applicable seafood and dump water as it melts
Properly label and cover all food


Specific Accountabilities:
Must always be punctual
Must be properly groomed according to handbook standards
Must be in complete uniform when starting shift
Must maintain a clean and sanitary workstation
Must always have a red sanitation bucket with sanitizer and lint free towel
Must maintain a clean uniform.
Must have a good attitude and act professionally at all times
Must respond immediately when asked to do something by EC or SC.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Qualifications:
Have basic food knowledge
Have prior experience in similar position
Know the difference between basic knife cuts
Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions.
Have basic knife skills
Have organizational Skills.
Have sanitation Skills.
Command of the English language.
Multi-lingual is helpful.
Must bring own knives and tools
Must keep knife sharp at all times

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work standing for a minimum period of 8 hours per day
Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.
Work with sharp objects in a safe manner.
Work around flammable materials.
Will be exposed to hot and cold temperature extremes.
Must be able to move, pull, carry and lift at least 50 pounds of force.
Occasionally kneeling, sitting, crouching and climbing.
Must be able to hear and speak clearly to communicate with guests and co-workers.
