Description

The Bank of Washington is seeking motivated candidates to fulfill the position of Credit Analyst. Interpreting financial statements and maintaining accuracy is vital to high performance.  The Credit Analyst will work closely with Credit Department, Loan Operations, and Loan Officers, to determine the creditworthiness and risk profile of an individual or business by analyzing financial data.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Monitor customer information files to ensure current reports, statements, tax returns and other information are present on a regular basis.
  • Gather/analyze financial data including business and personal financial statements and tax returns.
  • Spread financial statements; prepare narrative summary and financial projections.
  • Prepare financial analyses, summaries, and opinions for loan officers on new, renewal and existing loans.
  • Assist relationship managers in underwriting new loan requests and renewals.
  • Analyze financial information and prepares the preliminary analysis for the lender.
  • Effectively research any given subject (combining online sources, interviews and studies), and prepare clearly written, structured and articulate reports in order to accurately assess risk.
  • Perform industry research including comparing key financial ratios, profitability, and trends with other companies of same industry, size, and geographic location.
  • Analyze such factors as growth, earnings, transaction history, quality of management, market share, financial condition, potential risks of industry, and collateral appraisal to determine the risk involved in lending to borrowers.
  • Assist loan officers in monitoring the credit quality of the borrowers including assisting in keeping required financial data current and analyzing for trends, concerns and covenant compliance. 
  • Collaborate and assist other credit analysts and loan officers to ensure work is completed in a timely manner above and beyond assigned workflow.
  • Create forecasts for determining future debt service.
  • Credit reports, credit checks and other investigative reports for loans in process.
  • Assist in the process of ordering and reviewing or completing real estate appraisals and evaluations.
  • Follow all applicable laws, regulations and compliance. 

 

Preferred Education, Experience, Technical Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Accounting/Finance.
  • Bank credit experience preferred or similar experience.
  • Knowledge of personal/business financial statements and tax returns.
  • Experience with Baker Hill, Sageworks, Credit Quest or similar financial statement analysis software, as well as workflow and customer relationship management software is preferred. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office applications.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Strong customer-service skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent project management skills.
