EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATION
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree and a commitment to the values, standards, and expectations of NCAA Division III athletics and a liberal arts college. An accomplished background in sports program, preferably at the collegiate level.
Must have valid Virginia driver’s license and insurance coverage (if driving own vehicle) or be insurable if expected to drive College/rental vehicles on school business.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of sport program techniques and strategies. General knowledge and/or willingness to learn, NCAA rules and conference policies and procedures. Good communication skills including effective verbal and written abilities. Solid organizational and leadership skills. Ability to work effectively with a diverse population. Ability to work effectively with students, families, staff, faculty and coaches. Ability to positively influence public relations between the athletic department, the campus, and the community. Computer and database skills helpful.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Travel may be required. Frequent weekend and evening hours are required. Working environment includes both indoors and outdoors, and exposure to various weather conditions, including temperature extremes. Indoor work environment may not be air conditioned during hot weather. Must have the physical ability to walk, lift up to 30 pounds, run, bend, twist, climb, see, hear, and communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
