Description

The Division of Health, Mathematics and Sciences at Columbia College invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Exercise Science beginning August 2024. Columbia College is a liberal arts college that is committed to creating a learning community that values diversity and inclusion. We seek candidates who will be innovative in teaching, leadership, and research, while building collaborative relationships in the college and profession.

The Division houses several majors including Exercise Science, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer and Information Science, Healthcare Administration, and Public Health. Faculty within the division are committed to collaborative undergraduate research and have been successful in obtaining outside funding to support these efforts.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess an earned Ph.D in an Exercise Science related field. Interested candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence and service to the college and profession, have potential to sustain a program of productive scholarship, and a desire to work in a liberal arts environment with an emphasis on leadership development. Candidates should demonstrate an alignment to the CC mission and a commitment to and capacity for contributing to the development and leadership of programs, research, grant writing, and student experience.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in Exercise Science (demonstrating ability to design and deliver courses in a variety of formats), contributing to program assessment, supervising internships within Exercise Science, contributing service at the division, college, and community level, and producing scholarship relevant to the position.
