Position Objective:

The Marketing Videography Intern will gain knowledge, ability, and skills pertaining to marketing and digital media via videography in a camp setting by assisting in the ongoing Marketing efforts aimed toward to new and prospective guests at MHA in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values.
 

General Qualifications:

The Marketing Videography Intern is a Ministerial position. Ministerial staff render their work, stewardship, relationships and behavior as evidence of being followers of Jesus Christ while embracing and affirming Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s (“MHA”) mission, vision and beliefs.

 

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Assist in filming, producing, and editing videos for marketing purposes, support communications, social media, and creative program elements for all departments at MHA in a timely manner.
  • Work alongside Video and Digital Media Manager to create video and promotional materials to be used on multiple platforms including, social media, email, web, etc.
  • Assist in preparing content for social media, especially video-based content.
  • General video, photography, and basic graphic design duties as assigned by supervisor. Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Intern Program Key Accountabilities (10% to 15% of your time)
    • Thoughtfully engage in coursework and readings assigned by the Intern Program Director, in order to grow in your understanding of God, yourself, and your vocational calling.
    • Attend, engage, and contribute to weekly Intern Program meetings and trainings.
    • Participate in two Intern Retreats, and one all-staff retreat.
  • Other Responsibilities (up to 25% of your time)
    • Serve cross-departmentally in order to learn other skills and service roles in camping ministry. This includes, but is not limited to: Dining, Facilities, Accommodations and Guest Services (hosting a guest group on a weekend day).
    • Help facilitate a Guest Group event during the Thanksgiving holiday week, in partnership with Mount Hermon’s Guest Services team and other departments.

Qualifications

Education/Certifications/Licenses:

College graduate with coursework in design, marketing, video production, communications or a related field.

 

Work Experience:

  • Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite required (especially Premiere Pro and Media Encoder).
  • Ability to present a thorough portfolio of work in desired area.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic video production and editing abilities required.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
  • A quick learner with an ability to acclimate quickly to environment and different groups.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills required.
  • Awareness of social media trends.
  • Must be observant and attentive.
  • Mature understanding of camp guidelines and principles and respect for authority and peers.

 

Physical Demands:

The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Requires sitting, standing for at least 30 minutes straight, squatting, stooping, twisting, and ability to lift/carry 50 lbs.

 

Additional Requirements/Skills:

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings, many weekends, and several holidays.
  • May be required to travel for summer staff recruiting & church promotions.
  • Will be required to participate in Summer Staff Program as a component of the Internship program.
  • Adherence to the basic principles as expressed in MHA’s Mission, Vision, Values and Commitment statements.
  • Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
  • Satisfactory completion of background investigation, or valid work permit, as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Wage: $16/hour minus deductions for housing. (*Wage and lodging deductions may change effective January 1, 2025)
