JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
Palm Beach Atlantic University’s (PBA) Athletic Department is seeking applications for the position of Head Women's Lacrosse Coach. Located in West Palm Beach, Florida, PBA is a non-denominational Christian University, an NCAA Division II institution and member of the Sunshine State Conference (SSC). The Head Women's Lacrosse Coach will be a positive, energetic leader who is responsible for the overall management of the Women's Lacrosse program with student-athlete welfare as a guiding principle.
Position reports to the Director of Athletics. Expected to perform duties and responsibilities independently. Requires strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and align across a wide variety of people.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead all aspects of a competitive Division II Women’s Lacrosse Program
- Recruit and graduate student-athletes who maintain the standards of the university and department.
- Schedule practices, games, transportation/accommodations and travel itineraries for road games with the approval of the Athletic Director and in coordination with the Administrative Assistant to Athletics.
- Prepare and oversee the program budget.
- Represent the University at Sunshine State Conference (SSC) and national meetings as assigned.
Supervise support staff (assistant coaches and team managers)
- Recruits and hires competent and effective support staff.
- Mentor and supervise support staff.
Marketing and Fundraising efforts
- Assists with the coordination of program marketing, media and public relations
- Assists with facilitating charitable giving by donors and fundraising events
Adheres to all National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Sunshine State Conference (SSC) and University rules and regulation
- Responsible for managing the program in adherence to all budgetary guidelines, as well as University, Sunshine State Conference (SSC) and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Attend mandatory compliance and departmental meetings as scheduled.
JOB FACTORS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Baccalaureate required.
- Three years of experience
- Strong analytical and communication skills are an essential element of the position.
- Responsible for expense management within program budget.
