Job Summary

The Chief Financial Officer plays a pivotal role in developing and executing financial strategies aligned with the bank's purpose of Building Better, proactively working with leadership to develop financial strategy and short-term, tactical plans.  The CFO leads a vital area that serves the bank's financial needs and is responsible for transparent financial reporting, risk management, and budgeting. The CFO ensures the bank's stability while contributing to the well-being and growth of the company.This leadership position requires a deep understanding of community banking operations, regulatory compliance, and a commitment to fostering a team culture that aligns with the bank's purpose

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position is directly responsible for the management and development of the finance and accounting teams.  Direct reports include the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis and the Director of Accounting.  Indirect reports include the Accountant and AP | Payroll Specialist.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Financial Strategy: Craft and implement financial strategies that align with our purpose of Building Better, ensuring sustainable growth for the bank and the communities it serves.
  2. Financial and Regulatory Reporting: Oversee the preparation of accurate financial reports, providing insights that resonate with our commitment to transparency.
  3. Balance Sheet and Risk Management: Lead efforts in identifying and mitigating financial risks, safeguarding the bank’s assets, and ensuring the stability of financial services offered.
  4. Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with department heads to develop budgets and financial forecasts that reflect the needs and aspirations of our company, while monitoring performance against these financial targets.
  5. Capital Management: Optimize capital structure in alignment with the company’s financial well-being.
  6. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, working closely with regulatory bodies to uphold our commitment to ethical and responsible banking practices.
  7. Strategic Planning: Contribute financial insights to the overall strategic planning process, supporting initiatives that directly contribute to the betterment of our company.
  8. Team Leadership: Build and lead a finance team that shares our commitment to Building Better, fostering an inclusive and innovative work environment.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior finance role within the community banking sector.
