Manufacturing Engineering Clerk I

MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING CLERK I

Under general supervision of the Operations Engineering and Planning Manager, this position shall write product bills-of-materials (BOM) and production routing in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system for a variety of make-to-order, make-to-stock, and make-on-demand items, and make necessary changes in those products and/or routings, as situations demand.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Write and maintain Bill of Material (BOM) and routing for manufactured products with high degree of accuracy and timely completion to ensure availability for production.
•    As needed, document manufacturing processes, including videos and photos of materials and equipment; perform simple time and yield studies; and request materials for jobs.
•    Add and maintain part numbers according to the established procedure.
•    Update part-masters as required for the proper functioning of MRP and APS.
•    Participate in production and pre-production meetings.
•    Manage priorities and revise schedules based on the established lead times for the products being added.
•    Update/correct production bills and routings for product integrity and accuracy.
•    Assist with work orders revisions and updates.
•    Partner closely with planning, engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and distribution on projects as needed.
•    Work with team members to maintain workload balances in the department.
•    Foster and maintain a positive business relationship with internal customers.
•    Participate in team activities for implementing lean practices.
•    Serve as backup in the Operations Engineering and Planning Group.
 

Qualifications

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS


•    Associated Degree with 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
•    Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Word, Access.
•    Understanding of MRP, inventory and manufacturing methods is preferred.
•    Knowledge of Syspro, LYNQ, Translution, SAP, Oracle or similar ERP is preferred.
•    Detail oriented good organizational, verbal & written communication skills, works well independently and in a team environment.
•    Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize tasks as needed


COMPENSATION
Minimum: $17.54    Midpoint: 21.09

 

Hours:    7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday
               7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday (with every other Friday off) subject to change depending on projects worked on and with manager’s approval.
