POSITION SUMMARY

 

The position of Training and Development Specialist for the Center for Organ Recovery & Education (CORE) is one of significant responsibility. They are responsible for evaluating, designing, developing, and delivering effective training programs across the organization.

 

 

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

 

The Training and Development Specialist reports to the General Counsel and Director of Human Resources but will ultimately be responsible to the President and CEO. The Training and Development Specialist will be responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of the organization’s training programs and identifying opportunities for improvement to existing programs. They will propose new training programs when appropriate.  The Training and Development Specialist will create, organize, and present various forms of onboarding, orientation, and skills training for employees and customers. They will implement and conduct training and development opportunities for employees utilizing various formats including group discussions, lectures, simulations, on-the-job training, individualized meetings, workshops, and videos, this will include quarterly professional development days.

 

The Training and Development Specialist will create and administer post-training tests, evaluations, and/or assessments and will be responsible for ensuring effectiveness of training and development opportunities by analyzing and measuring feedback received through surveys, assessments, and other methods. They will coordinate and administer all mandatory training across the organization and maintain all records of training and development activities, including attendance, results of assessments, and retraining requirements. They may be responsible for reviewing and assessing training materials provided by internal instructors.

 

The Training and Development Specialist will train and coach leaders and will be involved in employee development opportunities. They will collaborate with individuals and/or groups to develop impactful training opportunities. The Training and Development Specialist should maintain a current knowledge of new training techniques and developments and will be responsible for the upkeep and administration of the internal training guides for staff.

The Training and Development Specialist will prepare and implement an annual training budget for the organization.

Qualifications

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

 

The Training and Development Specialist should have a Bachelor’s degree in training and development, Organizational Development, Communications, or related field, with at least 5 years of experience in designing, delivering, and/or consulting on training. Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) credential preferred, or ability to achieve within 1 year of employment. They should have a strong understanding of labor and employment laws related to training and development.

 

The Training and Development Specialist should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal and teaching skills. They should have excellent organizational skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The Training and Development Specialist should be proficient in Microsoft Office suites and also be adept with a variety of multimedia training materials and platforms. They should possess the ability to design and implement effective training and development models and have a strong graphic design skillset. They should possess the ability to effectively manage large groups and display strong leadership skills.
