Position Summary:

TCM has a need for a full-time Contracts Administrator in its legal department to help manage, organize, draft and administer a variety of contracts, but with a focus on publishing industry specific contracts and agreements.  This position will report to the Chief Financial Officer and will work very closely with the Chief Legal Officer, as well as editorial, operations, and accounting staff.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist Chief Legal Officer with administration of licensing agreements, rights agreements and publishing agreements
  • Establish rigorous process for managing product rights
  • Maintain royalty contract database
  • Manage workflow processes and the life cycle of contracts both in and outside of a contract management system
  • Ensure licensing revenue terms are tracked and billed for on a timely basis
  • Ensure timely copyright registrations
  • Organize and track legal agreements from origination to fully-executed status
  • Establish process to communicate key contractual terms to billing department to ensure billings are issued correctly and payments can be collected timely
  • Create written SOPs for various department processes
  • Migrate rights and royalty lists and terms to eventual software system
  • Review contract terms to identify any potential risk or compliance issues
  • Set up database for customer contracts in all sales channels

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in contract management with direct experience in licensing, publishing and rights and royalty agreements
  • Paralegal background is a plus
  • Over the top organizational skills will be paramount to the success in this role
  • Must have an eye for the smallest of details
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), Adobe Acrobat and DocuSign
  • Passion for fast-paced environments with capability to handle multiple and competing deadlines

Physical Requirements:

  • Sit for extended periods of time; including at a computer.
  • Occasional lifting up to 15 lbs.
  • Repetitive hand and wrist movements for frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse.

Work Conditions:

  • General office environment.
