POSITION SUMMARY:

Develop skills to assist and participate in the entry of data and analysis of commercial and agricultural credit information for the lending department and customers in conjunction with other Credit Administration staff.  This position will also assist with the management and review of commercial and agricultural loan administration processes, incorporating documentation, and post-closing review.

  • Analyzes financial statements to assess performance ratios, strengths and weaknesses as pertaining to a borrower’s historical operating performance.  Analysis to encompass commercial and ag credits of any size under the direction/guidance of SVP Credit Administration and/or Lending Relationship Officer. Will also assist Lending Relationship Officers with analysis of credit requests and compilation of credit packets     
  • Prepares necessary spreadsheet detail of all applicable financial information and provides written analysis of facts and/or opinions of loan requests for professional presentation to approval committees.    
  • Perform analysis of Home Loan Center credit requests, as applicable, including preparation of the loan request presentation for committee approval.      
  • Attends Officers Loan Committee, as necessary, to answer questions and/or present credit presentations he/she is involved in.
  • Accepts requests for appraisal orders for commercial/Ag properties and residential real estate loans.  After selecting a board approved appraiser, prepares and delivers written request to the appraiser, monitors timeliness of receipt of appraisals ensuring prompt customer service for anticipated closing dates.  Records status of all appraisals in the tracking worksheet on the Intranet.
  • Reviews appraisals for adherence to bank policies and USPAP guidelines.  Provides appraisal and written appraisal review report in a timely manner.  Reports any discrepancies or other appraisal issues to the VP/Compliance Officer.
  • Accepts requests for evaluations of residential, commercial, and Ag RE.  Prepares evaluations in accordance with bank policy for use in reviews of pending credit requests.

  • Reviews credit files for cross sale opportunities for completing referral opportunities to appropriate department/personnel.
  • Evaluates how bank services can mitigate risk.
  • Maintains historical studies of customers by compiling and analyzing financial developments and comparing industry statistics with the company’s exposure to the industry.
  • Works with the Lenders and Lending Relationship Officers in reviewing new loan requests and associated financial data to determine whether the loan is within acceptable bank risk standards and in keeping with Loan Policy.
  • Cross-sells bank products by answering inquiries; informing customers of new services and product promotions; ascertaining customers’ needs; directing customers to a branch representative.

  • Maintains customer confidence and protects bank operations by keeping information confidential.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Participates in civic and community activities to generate visibility and contact for the bank.
  • Attends mandatory compliance and security sessions.  Monitors daily work for adherence to compliance and security regulations, policies/procedures, and promptly corrects any deficiencies.

Qualifications

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Work is performed primarily indoors in an office setting.
  • Remote work may be available upon supervisor approval.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s or Associates degree in business, finance, accounting or equivalent educational and/or work experience preferred.
  • Credit Analysis experience preferred.
  • Skill in performing mathematical principles.
  • Knowledge of the layout and functions of the computer keyboard and ten key adding machine
  • Advanced computer skills in operating Windows based programs with word processing and spread sheet software experience.
  • Above average oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of and ability to cross-sell FCB products and services to customers-such as the ability to identify customers’ needs, communicate services, explain advantages.
  • Skill in working with the public, presenting a professional image of the bank, and servicing prospective and current customer inquiries, requests, and complaints.
