Description

Role:
The Quality Control/Calibration/Shipping Technician perform visual and dimensional inspections
on incoming material, work in progress and review of final products to ensure company, customer,
and print specifications are met. Transact, package and ship product to customers per the Ship
Report from ERP. Support and maintain the calibration system, by assuring that tools, gages,
instruments, and other testing devices used in quality activities, design and production are
properly controlled and calibrated at specified intervals within prescribed technical requirements.
The technician also uses test equipment to evaluate the materials or products and records data
from test procedures and inspections. Ensure timely and accurate shipping transactions.


Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Training and coaching Quality & Logistics & Shipping employees
• Understanding and managing of daily priorities
• Perform Incoming Inspection, WIP inspection, and Final Release Inspection
• Understanding, evaluating and executing the tests and procedures properly and investigating
how product modifications can prompt changes to inspection criteria
• Maintaining and setting up documentation and control procedures (Quality Plans, AQLs, etc.)
• Make decisions regarding product acceptance/rejection (problem solving)
• Initiate NCMRs/CAPAs/SCARs on behalf of the Material Review Board
• Respond to questions in regards to Quality
• Operate inspection tools/equipment
• File records (physically and electronically)
• Prepare and approve C of C’s, C of A’s, Packing Slips (as appropriate)
• Package and ship product to customers (both domestic and international)
• Work with a variety of equipment including, but not limited to calipers, rulers, force gage,
computer and electrical test equipment
• Document and Perform Internal Calibration Procedures
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment
• Maintain Calibration history files
• Facilitate 3rd Party calibration services
• Report metrics on a monthly basis
• Provide input for yearly calibration budget
• Facilitate continuous improvement/cost reduction activities related to calibration services
• Immediately report any problems with quality processes, equipment and materials to
manager.
• Maintain accurate records in ERP system by processing timely and accurate transactions.
• Process international and domestic shipping transactions in accurate and timely manner.
• Perform other duties, as assigned
 

 

Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: Two plus years of hands on quality control experience in a fast paced environment.
Education: 2 year Technical College degree preferred or equivalent
