Senior Controls Engineer Automated Parking Systems

Westfalia Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer - Automated Parking Systems (APS) with extensive experience in controls engineering. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in the field and a strong emphasis on PLC and HMI expertise. In this role, you will be responsible for performing Electrical Controls Design of hardware and software on APS equipment built or supplied by Westfalia Technologies, Inc., including remote field commissioning and on-site start-up.


 Job Functions:

  • Develop and adapt existing PLC and HMI code using Siemens and Rockwell PLC software and hardware.
  • Assist maintenance personnel in debugging and troubleshooting PLC-based control systems at customer sites.
  • Conduct control system testing and commissioning.
  • Develop PLC programs and electrical control system designs, including control panel design, with mechanical design engineers.
  • Provide world-class customer service, including on-site customer training.
  • Participate in new product development and reviews of existing products to enhance ease of maintenance and reduce field failures.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to ensure compliance with applicable codes.
  • Submit all paperwork promptly and professionally.



Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to multitask and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in writing and troubleshooting PLC code, primarily using Siemens TIA Portal (Step 7) and secondarily using Rockwell Studio 5000.
  • Experience with Siemens and Rockwell programming software and hardware.
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs, Industrial Ethernet, motor control, VFD controls, relays, and sensors.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools, multimeters, and oscilloscopes.
  • Ability to interpret electrical wiring diagrams/schematics.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic automation systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent verbal and written communication skills.




  • A four-year Engineering Degree (Electrical or Computer Engineering).
  • 10+ years of direct experience in the Industrial Electrical Control Field.
  • Electrical and/or electronic troubleshooting experience.



  • CAD Software proficiency, specifically EPlan and/or AutoCAD.
  • Experience in Automated Parking Systems is a plus.
