The Banquet Captain provides excellent service to our guests at catered events. This position is key to the success of our catering services.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that safety and sanitation codes are followed
- Train staff to recognize improper guest behavior
- Work with the food and beverage manager and coordinate with kitchen staff to communicate and ensure details of the menu, food preparation activities, and service standards
- Examine the cleanliness of the venue prior to a function and resolve and existing issues
- Ensure that elements of a venue are ready before guests arrive, including the dining tables, bar, food, and beverages
- During the event, they interact with the host to respond to any special requests or last-minute adjustments
- Monitor the activities, respond to questions, complaints, or comments that may arise
- Post-event review the charges incurred and adjust payment
- Responsible to ensure dining tables, bathrooms, food and beverages are ready prior to the event
- Responsible for Cleanup, inventory, and the storage of supplies and equipment post-event
- Restaurant duties are included during times that banquet business is slow
- Other related responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the General Manager, Assistant General Manager and/or Food and Beverage Manager
