JOB DESCRIPTION

Overview:

A Community Coordinator is someone who is passionate about organizing and executing events, and building a stronger & more diverse community at Sender One. A Community Coordinator embodies the Sender One core values, is proactive, self-motivated, solution driven, and delivers outstanding customer experiences to guests, members, brand partners, and collaborators.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and facilitate gym community events that align with the Events & Programs Yearly Calendar;
  • Manage the Sender One gym specific social media channel(s);
    • This responsibility will require you to use your cell phone. You will be reimbursed a set cell phone usage credit each paycheck;
  • Maintain the brand image within the gym, including ensuring promotional material is up to date and well presented around the gym;
  • Coordinate with Events & Community Programs Manager and all gym departments to ensure clear cross-department communication;
  • Collaborate with Community Programs Manager & Gym Manager on community events and community program initiatives;
  • Act as Bouldering League Commissioner;
  • Submit Marketing requests and create community event creatives;
  • Promote and enhance company reputation by providing a professional and effective work ethic;
  • Represent Sender One at local outreach events, community events, or large scale in-house events;
  • Perform a range of administrative support duties through Rock Gym Pro (RGP), G-Suite, WordPress, and Canva;
  • Work Customer Experience shifts (this role complements CX).

  • Receptive to feedback and implements actions with the direction and guidance of Events & Community Programs Manager;

  • Motivated and goal-orientated;
  • Flexible and able to adapt to change;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Functions at a high level in stressful situations;
  • Provides a relatable and friendly tone through all communication channels;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills - written and verbally.

Industry Experience:

  • Experience in event organizing and/or project management;
  • Excellent customer-facing experience and skills;
  • Proficiency in Rock Gym Pro (RGP) and G-Suite;
  • Understanding of key marketing and brand strategies;
  • Knowledge of social media platforms (Instagram, YouTube, Facebook);
  • Knowledge of MailChimp and WordPress a plus;
  • Skills in HTML, photography, videography, and digital design a plus;
  • Must have a valid drivers license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel between multiple gym locations when necessary;
  • Able to lift 40 pounds;
  • Food handling.

Time Commitment:

  • 6-8 office hours/week;*
  • 2-16 hours/ month for Community Events;
  • Must be available some weekends and weekday evenings for events;
  • Attend Monthly Community Coordinator planning meeting;
  • Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel between gym locations.

*Hours will vary depending on when community events are planned; some tasks may overlap CX hours and can be done during CX shifts (Ex. Social Media)
