Position: Admission Counselor/Recruiter 

 

Department: Enrollment Management 

 

Classification : Exempt 

 

 

 

Lane College is currently conducting a search to expand its Admissions and Recruitment Department.  The ideal candidate possesses a burning desire to reach and guide students and parents through each step of the admissions and enrollment process.  The candidate possesses the ability to multi-task in a high traffic and fast-paced environment.  He/she will assist students with information on application materials for admissions and financial aid, including helping students fill out the FAFSA and student loan documents online.  The candidate must be able to travel independently.  He/she will represent the College at college fairs, expos, private visits, and other events.  He/she must be able to develop and maintain contact with high school counselors and community colleges.   

Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

  • Assist with development of organizational procedures and systems for office personnel, including filing and scheduling /recruitment visits/ campus tours  

  • Serving as the initial point of contact in the Admissions Office for visitors, including academic and community leaders. 

  • Coordinating logistical aspects related to the assigned official functions on and off campus including but not limited to travel and other ancillary activities. 

  • must be outgoing, energetic, self-motivated and goal oriented;  

  • must be prepared to travel, including some overnight and weekend travel;  

  • must possess a high level of personal integrity and professionalism;  

  • must possess an openness to feedback and a willingness to take personal responsibility for the affairs of Lane College;  

  • Other duties as assigned.  

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience:  

  • Bachelor’s degree with two years of professional work experience;  

  • must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record; 

  • Should possess attention to detail and the ability to organize effectively.  

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. 

  • Exceptional interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills. 

  • Experience working in a fast paced, complex work environment with multiple and competing deadlines. 

  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point). 

  • Ability to work some nights and weekends as necessary.  

  • must be able to manage student records, maintaining strict confidentiality, ensuring that the internal database is current and accurate;  

  • The ideal candidate must have a strong knowledge of the federal student financial aid programs and application process, a working knowledge of the software required by the United States Department of Education for processing federal student aid programs.   

  • Experience working with CAMS software programs is preferred.   

  • May require requires some walking, climbing stairs, sitting long periods of time, lifting up to 15lbs. 10% of the time.
