Scope

The Marketing Coordinator will assist the Senior Marketing Manager and marketing/publicity team to implement strategic plans for AMP products across our core content areas: humor, inspiration, poetry, childrens, and puzzles and games.

This position works within a cross-functional team, which includes sales, editorial, and digital products, to assist with strategy development and marketing planning and implementation for brands, creators, and products.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES

  • Collaborate with AMUs editorial, sales, and marketing teams to determine the marketing opportunities, strategy and needs for creators, brands, and products
  • Publicity strategy and implementation; includes but not limited to:
    • Writing compelling press releases, pitch letters and emails, and other materials
    • Generating insightful and effective Marketing Briefs
    • Managing media mailings of books, materials, and catalogs, online and in print
    • Researching and compiling targeted media lists
    • Working with designers to develop effective materials for media and creators
    • Media relations (cultivating contacts in traditional and digital media)
  • Consumer product positioning
  • Creative strategy and tactics for implementation
  • Creator relations
  • Assist with marketing needs assessment and planning
  • Coordinate across AMU divisions to promote interdepartmental products and brands
  • Author and/or design original content and curate sourced content for blogs, websites, and digital platforms as needed.
  • Conduct research, interpret data, analyze results and otherwise assist in the development of the digital marketing strategy for AMU creators/brands
  • Determine strategy and execute email marketing plans
  • Assist in the planning/coordination of events and tours
  • Represent AMU at trade shows and industry, retailer, and media as assigned
  • Ad hoc projects as requested

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in marketing or publicity
  • Four-year Bachelors degree (Journalism, English, Marketing or Mass Communications major preferred)
  • Experience with social media content management and strategy
  • Experience using Cision or similar media database software is a plus
  • Excellent writer
  • Command of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Command of Adobe Creative Suite with proficient use of InDesign and Photoshop
