JOB SUMMARY: We are looking for a reliable handyman to help us with the upkeep and repairs of company properties. Well rely on you to keep our facilities in perfect condition by doing various odd jobs. Skillful hands and technical knowledge are important parts of a handymans arsenal. You must be well-organized with strong general repair skills.

Under the general direction of the Facilities Supervisor, maintain corporate facilities by ensuring building, electrical, plumbing, grounds and equipment are in good repair, clean, safe, orderly and compliant with applicable federal, state, local and FBTC regulations. Also responds to day-to-day operations, maintenance and repairs as needed.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform maintenance and light repairs
  • Undertake light installation or carpentry (e.g. build cabinets)
  • Assist tradespeople with electrical, plumbing or HVAC repairs
  • Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks (e.g. shoveling snow)
  • Identify and report the need for major repairs

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform other duties and projects as required by management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid drivers license and good driving record.
  • Previous maintenance experience.
  • The qualified candidate must have basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Proven experience as handyman
  • Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment
  • Proficient using basic office software (i.e. MS Word, Excel and Outlook e-mail)
  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing or HVAC systems
  • Basic math skills
  • Good communication ability
  • Well-organized and apt in problem-solving
  • Attention to detail

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This work requires the following physical activities:

  • Standing for long periods of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing, and visual acuity, driving.
  • Frequent lifting (up to 100 pounds).
  • Climb ladders.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments year round
  • Travel to other banking facilities/property frequently
  • Occasional work in response to emergency or planned repairs

 

SCHEDULE:

  • Monday to Friday
  • On call
  • Weekend and Holiday availability
