We sell a variety of product categories as a 1st Party Seller, including toys, games, pet, sports & outdoor, home and patio, lawn & garden. We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven individual to join our Business Development team as a Lead Generation Specialist. This Specialist will play an integral role in expanding our vendor network by proactively researching, identifying, and evaluating potential partners using various technologies. A candidate in the Kentwood, MI region is preferred, but remote or hybrid candidates may be considered.


The ideal candidate will boast a track record of success in sales, business development, and lead generation, showcasing robust analytical skills alongside a keen ability to interpret data effectively. Moreover, the candidate should demonstrate a proactive and outgoing approach, excelling in building and nurturing vendor relationships. Exceptional communication skills, a collaborative mindset, creative sales tactics, and proficiency in various lead generation tools are crucial to the success of this role, and ultimately the Business Development team.


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Conduct proactive research and analysis using tools like Keepa, Jungle Scout, etc., to identify and quantify potential new vendor opportunities.

  • Comfortability working with artificial intelligence (AI) for predictive analytics, lead scoring, and other tasks to optimize and streamline the vendor pipeline and communication process.

  • Utilize effective communication skills to engage in cold calling, social media outreach, and email campaigns to generate leads and expand the vendor pipeline.

  • Collaborate with the Business Development team to accurately interpret data and evaluate potential vendors.

  • Work closely with Directors of Business Development and other key departmental leaders to gain a comprehensive understanding of FRG’s business model.

  • Effectively implement required business terms and conditions in vendor contracts, ensuring alignment with FRG’s business strategy.

  • Demonstrate persistence in lead generation efforts to meet business plans, quotas, and company objectives.

  • Maintain and update leads in a HubSpot, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information for the Business Development funnel.

  • Actively participate in team meetings and contribute insights to enhance overall team effectiveness.

  • Represent the company at industry trade shows and events or other opportunities to meet prospective vendors.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to ensure a seamless transition of vendors through the onboarding process.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field required.

  • 3-5 years’ experience in business development, lead generation, or a similar role.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Results-oriented with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.

  • Experience using tools such as HubSpot,  Keepa and Jungle Scout is a plus.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a desk or computer.

  • Capability to stand and move around for tasks that may require mobility.

  • Excellent vision and hearing skills to perform job responsibilities effectively through in person, telephone, and written communication.

  • Capacity to engage in verbal communication, actively listen, and respond appropriately.
