Job Type: Full-Time The floor operations position is seasonal- Season is March-October/November 2024.

*This position has a defined timeframe with the possibility of transitioning into a Full-Time position based on business needs.

Basin Disposal Inc., located in Pasco, Washington, is looking for a dynamic, full time, Transfer-Station-Floor employee to join their team. The Floor-Transfer’s duties are to safely and efficiently spot and direct customers and perform general clean-up at the Transfer Station in accordance with company policies.

Primary Functions

Station Safety

  • Efficiently direct and spot trucks and other equipment that both internal and external customers are operating
  • Monitor traffic flow with tools such as signs and cones
  • Report any safety or quality concerns to a supervisor or manager
  • Perform general clean up on site and/or on equipment as needed

Employee Safety

  • Maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Make safety a priority at all times, including the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Wear a clean standard uniform daily

Customer Service

  • Be courteous with all customers, both internal and external

Tactical Work/Tasks

  • Spot/Direct trucks and other equipment at the Transfer station
  • Operate equipment in accordance with company procedures and standards
  • Clean equipment as needed
  • General site cleanup as needed
  • Comply with all safety standards and requirements
  • Report any concerns with equipment, route(s) or customer(s) to a supervisor or manager
  • Report all work driving violations or incidents to manager immediately
  • Follow oral and/or written instructions
  • Work independently and perform duties without close supervision

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

  • Typically performed in the yard
  • The position involves work outdoors on a year-round basis and is subject to extreme weather conditions.
  • May be exposed to waste, including blood-borne pathogens, insects, animals and other exterior hazards.
  • The noise level is moderate to loud.
  • Sit, stand, walk, bend, reach with arms and hands at or above shoulders, kneel and stretch, and the ability to climb into or exit vehicles and/or other equipment.
  • Lift, push, carry and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 lbs. on a routine basis, and up to 90 lbs. as needed using proper lifting techniques.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to include repetitive grasping and reaching.

Work Schedule

Five (5), 8-hour shifts, days off will depend on assignment.

  • Report to work as scheduled and clock in at the start and end of the scheduled shift
  • Schedules are subject to change based on the operational needs of the company
  • Subject to work holidays and occasional weekends
  • 30 minutes per shift for lunch
  • Rest at appropriate times; two 15-minute breaks
