MISSION
We empower healing for individuals who were sexually abused as children or adolescents through retreats, support groups, and online education and resources.
We educate and engage parents and caregivers to protect children from sexual abuse through community and online resources.
We drive awareness to motivate individuals to take action against child sexual abuse.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking a professional mental health therapist to provide the following under the direction of the senior retreat manager:
- Provide psychoeducational and experiential classes to adult survivors of sexual abuse in a four-day retreat model.
- Educate program participants during and after retreat on Saprea's materials and treatment protocols.
- Provide outpatient therapy services for a small caseload.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced therapist who wants to work primarily at a trauma sensitive, educational healing retreat setting. The Saprea Retreat is a free, clinically informed 4-day in-person experience followed by a self-guided online course. Nestled in a beautiful environment surrounded by nature and supported by ancillary services including a logistics team and outstanding in-house culinary offerings, the Retreat teaches about trauma's impacts, provides opportunities to apply healing tools, and builds community among survivors.
Educational/Professional Requirements
- Masters degree in a mental health related discipline
- Active professional license (LMFT, CMHC, LCSW)
Experience Requirements
- 5-years in mental health field
- 5-years providing individual, family and group therapy
- 3-years working with survivors of trauma/sexual abuse or equivalent
- 3-years teaching mental health concepts/leading educational lectures
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Guide retreat participants in the development of skills and strategies to deal with their abuse trauma.
- Facilitate psychoeducational classes and support groups for retreat participants.
- Conduct clinical screenings via telephone for potential participants as directed by Intake Clinical Manager.
- Provide individual therapy (financially supported by Saprea) to a small caseload of sexual abuse survivors.
- Develop and implement individual treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge.
- Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports.
- Collaborate and Consult with Online Case Manager to guide clients in finding appropriate and therapeutic ancillary methods.
- Actively pursue new knowledge in therapeutic ancillary methods. Stay on the cutting edge of new information.
- Refer clients to local community resources or to other specialists as needed.
