Our company is in an exciting growth phase where we are launching new products, expanding our team, and reaching new markets. We have doubled in size in four years (about 50 to 100 employees) and our finance and admin teams are building strong foundations to keep pace with that growth. We seek an enthusiastic, confident professional to lead these teams and be responsible for the day-to-day management of their activities. The VP of Finance and Administration will be a member of Integral Molecular’s executive leadership team, reports directly to the CEO and will support the management of the company and individual business units. This position will manage 3-4 direct reports including the Director Human Resources and the Finance Manager. Responsibilities will be both hands-on and managerial. Responsibilities

Finance and Accounting

  • Provide recommendations and suggest proactive strategies to keep Integral Molecular on track for achieving strategic goals
  • Serve as internal consultant to CEO, VP of Sales & Customer Relations, leadership team, shareholders, and other key stakeholders on all financial matters
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute the annual budget process in collaboration with the CEO and VP of Sales
  • Forecast, in close collaboration with sales and marketing teams, monthly, quarterly and annual sales results
  • Implement improvements and efficiencies in the payroll management system
  • Manage the audit process by overseeing the preparation of all financial statements necessary for an external review; establish appropriate communications and a strong working relationship with external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial aspects of grants, contracts and agreements
  • Hands on execution of monthly payroll processes and annual 1099s
  • Oversight and execution on AP/AR management functions to include review and approval of invoices prior to payment

Administration and Human Resources

  • Oversee, direct, and organize the work of the Administrative, Legal, Human Resources, IT, lab management and facilities teams
  • Plan and execute quarterly and annual performance review/compensation process
  • Provide guidance and advice to managers in salary review and promotion
  • Oversee facilities operations, including project management of construction projects and lease negotiations
  • Oversee disciplinary actions including conflict resolutions and terminations

Business Management

  • Analyze overall business and product line profitability including payroll and labor costs
  • Compare sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses
  • Make or oversee any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets
  • Support business units, sales, and marketing in the creation of strategic budgets that allow for flexible forecasting of spending and revenue
  • Work closely with executive team to create and deploy a corporate restructuring model that facilitates efficient and effective business operations

Qualifications

  • Proven executive leadership experience in finance and/operations
  • Expert understanding and hands on experience of finance, accounting, budgeting, and business forecasting
  • Establish effective working relationships with dominant, talented leadership
  • Aggressively detail-oriented with expert analytical thinking skills
  • Team builder, culture carrier with ability to deliver consensus across multiple levels of an organization
  • Mastery of Quickbooks, Excel and MS Office
  • BA/BS or MS business, accounting, finance; MBA or CPA preferred
  • 5+ years working with budgets of $5M+
