ASST. PROFESSOR OF MATHEMATICS

Position: ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF MATHEMATICS

Reports To: Division Chair

Classification : Exempt

Core Responsibilities: Teaching 12-15 credit hours and academic advising. 

Responsibilities:

·         Teach 4-5 undergraduate level mathematics courses (12-15 credit hours) each semester;

·         Maintain regular office hours and advise students;

·         Design lessons and curricula in an engaging manner, applying various teaching methods, lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and individual or collaborative projects and research.

·         Participate in division and department activities.

·         Supervise, manage and control the classroom.

Qualifications and Experience:

Master’s degree in Mathematics and experience in teaching minimum 18 credit hours in college-level mathematics courses, or Ph.D. in Mathematics and experience in teaching minimum 12 credit hours in college-level mathematics courses.   

Experience in teaching must include teaching in-class or hybrid a minimum of 3 of the following courses: College Algebra, Trigonometry, Discrete Mathematics, Probability and Statistics, Calculus I, Calculus II and/or Linear Algebra, using Microsoft Office Suite or related software for designing course materials and communication, and utilizing innovative modalities for delivering course content. Teaching experience as Teacher Assistant is accepted.
