Description

The American Printing House for the Blind (APH), a world leader in creating learning solutions and pathways to success for children and adults who are blind or low vision, is seeking a Digital Content Specialist to acquire, create, and deliver useful and accurate information directly aligned with APH products and services for the learning management system, the APH Hive.  Reporting to the Learning Management System (LMS) Director, the LMS Digital Content Specialist provides educational learning content utilizing a variety of tools and strategies to support the goals developed for the APH Hive and Outreach programs.

 

This is a remote position.  Relocation to Louisville, KY is not required.

 

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Assist the LMS Director with communication to contractors and peer reviewers regarding course creation in the LMS, review and organization of follow up activities, running data reports, and creation of new curriculum.
  • Creates educational learning curriculum utilizing a variety of tools that simplify the learning process and meets ever changing need.
  • In conjunction with APH consultants, develops, delivers, and updates course and curricula to support professional development.
  • Works with APH staff to develop product information strategies and create product training materials in a range of formats, i.e. – videos, PowerPoints, blogs, etc.  
  • Identifies, researches, and maintains extensive working knowledge of APH products for the purpose of developing training materials for use in the learning management system, in-house, and in the field.
  • Work with Product Managers, Customer Service staff, and others to create and maintain proficiency in the development and use of APH products and services.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field required.  Strong preference given to candidate with education in the field of blindness and low vision.
  • Verifiable experience as a presenter at workshops, conferences, and seminars.
  • Working knowledge of appropriate computer applications to develop a variety of product training materials for web site use, such as online webinar platforms, digital presentation software, etc. (Zoom webinar, Adobe). 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word).
  • Excellent attention to detail with solid written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple timelines and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Have the willingness to be flexible to changes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for working with APH staff of all levels, APH customers, and professionals in the field of blindness.
  • Ability to work independently from a remote location with minimal daily supervision.
  • Periodic travel to APH, consultant locations across the United States, and to regional and national conferences.

 

COMPENSATION

 

$48,553.36 – $60,249.18
