About Us: LifeShare has been at the forefront of organ and tissue donation, and our In-House Coordinator plays a pivotal role in fostering relationships, providing education, and ensuring the seamless coordination of donation cases. As a LifeShare employee based at St. John Medical Center, you'll become an integral part of a dedicated team committed to making a difference.

 

Responsibilities: As our In-House Coordinator, your daily tasks will vary, from rounding and checking in with nurses on active referrals to providing new nurse education and conducting in-services. You will be a key player in quality indicator metric reporting, annual education events with physicians, and the coordination of all donation cases during and after recovery. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to review outcomes with hospital staff. This hybrid role also includes the ability to speak with families about organ donation and support each family until the end of the case. This includes coordinating memory making, honor walks and flag ceremonies.

 

Key Duties:

  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with hospital contacts.
  • Coordinate and execute general educational activities.
  • Facilitate the strategic plan for donation performance improvements.
  • Implement and sustain donation best practices within designated hospital(s).
  • Clinically evaluate potential donor patients.
  • Collaborate with hospital staff to preserve donation options.
  • Present donation options to legal next-of-kin/family support.
  • Obtain authorization for organ and tissue donation.

Qualifications

  • Two years of critical care experience as a RN, RT or Paramedic.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong attention to detail.
