Position Summary:

Teacher Created Materials values our ongoing connection to teachers, students, and classrooms. To that end, we are proud to offer a Teacher Intern program that provides teachers the opportunity to share their creativity, passion, and pedagogy with our Content Development team to make outstanding products that teachers and students will love.

Previous editorial or publishing experience is not required. This is an excellent opportunity for teachers to share their passion and creativity to support our vision of creating a world in which children love to learn!

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

• Reviews materials in development (teacher materials, student materials, digital components, etc.) to ensure that they meet the needs of today’s teachers and students.
• Provides direct-from-the-classroom feedback to products in development to ensure that all Teacher Created Materials products are purposeful, effective, engaging, clear, and easy to use.
• Works directly with a project manager and/or editor to make changes as needed for clarification, and may rewrite or reorganize materials.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BA or BS degree in education, journalism, or related field or equivalent experience
• K-12 classroom teaching experience required
• Content area specialization a plus
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities

Physical Requirements:

• Sit for extended periods of time; including at a computer.
• Occasional lifting up to 15 lbs.
• Repetitive hand and wrist movements for frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse.

Work Conditions:

General home office environment.
