General Qualifications

The Lone Star Lights Interiors Lead must be a mature follower of Jesus, still growing and developing in his/her faith. They must be fully in accord with Carolina Creek’s mission statement, and statement of beliefs; committed to living these out personally, and instilling them in the organization. They must be of strong moral character and integrity.

Position Objective

Carolina Creek is seeking an experienced and creative interior decorator to oversee the interior design and decoration for our Christmas event, Lone Star Lights at Carolina Creek. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and creativity to ensure that all decorations and designs are in line with the theme of the event. They will also have the ability to recruit, cast vision for, lead, and manage a team of workers, (both paid and volunteer), to execute the interior experience for Lone Star Lights.

  • This is a hybrid position that will require on-site responsibilities during the LSL season

Key Job Accountabilities

  • Understand and be able to incorporate the brand attributes of both Carolina Creek generally, and Lone Star Lights specifically regarding all communications, furnishings and design 

  • Develop and execute a visual concept and design for the interior spaces of Lone Star Lights

  • Recruit, manage and oversee a team of decorators to ensure that all decorations and set-up are completed on schedule and meet quality standards

  • Create a detailed budget plan for the interior decorating, ensuring that expenses are allocated efficiently

  • Collaborate with event production team to ensure that all design concepts are feasible and align with the overall event theme

  • Stay up-to-date on current design trends and incorporate into the interior decorating plan

  • Communicate effectively with vendors, contractors, and other members of the event team to ensure that all requirements are met

  • Provide regular progress reports to the event planning team and modify plans as necessary

  • Coordinate with the event production team to ensure that all decorations and furniture are safely and properly installed and removed

  • Attend all required staff meetings and events 

  • Actively engage and participate in the staff community through a godly attitude, words and actions

  • Be able to articulate the mission, vision, and values of Carolina Creek including essentials of our Christian faith from a personal perspective

  • Be able to provide counsel from our shared faith perspective, and to participate in worship and/or Bible studies, and to pray with other staff members, volunteers, and guests as is situationally appropriate

Qualifications

Education/Certifications/Licenses

  • Must have a current valid driver’s license.

  • Must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Work Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in interior design, with experience in event decoration preferred

  • Demonstrated experience leading successful teams, whether in a work or volunteer environment preferred

  • Strong communication and leadership skills

  • Attention to detail and ability to create and execute a vision

  • Ability to manage and work under tight timelines and pressure

  • Ability to network such as to build a team of nominally compensated staff and volunteers

  • Ability to lead a team, solving problems and resolving conflicts necessary to accomplish the goal

Physical Demands:

  • The physical environment requires the employee to work long hours both inside and outside in hot and humid conditions, sometimes walking long distances over steep or uneven terrain.

  • The job duties require sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, twisting, the ability to lift/carry from 15 to over 40 lbs, and to climb stairs and ladders.

  • Must have the ability to drive a car, truck, van, box truck, ATV, or other vehicle. The ability to pull a trailer is preferred but not required.

  • Must have good sight and hearing to ensure safety in hazardous conditions and emergencies.

  • Must have the ability to be heard when speaking or shouting at distances when responding to emergencies or leading in large group situations.

Additional Requirements

  • Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.

  • Satisfactory completion of background investigation, as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
