Satellite Rebuild Specialist

Westfalia Technologies, Inc. has set the benchmark in the automation industry, delivering top-tier solutions and innovations. As we continue to grow, Westfalia is looking to hire a Satellite Rebuild Specialist to join our team. The Satellite Rebuild Specialist is responsible for rebuilding and refurbishing client Satellite equipment to OEM specifications and provide related services to other Westfalia equipment in our shop facility.


Job Functions: 


  • Inquire goals and frame conditions from Aftermarket management.
  • Support AM Sales efforts for Satellite rebuild services by maintaining a reliable schedule and communicating any improvements or shortcomings of the Satellite Workshop to leadership.
  • Consistently own work area in terms of upholding organizational standards (5S)
  • Inspect, assess, disassemble, clean, repair, replace, assemble, adjust, etc. Satellites and components to achieve top level quality and on time delivery of Satellite refurbishments, upgrades, repairs, and possibly new builds.
  • Operate machinery such as drill press, punch press, saw, etc.
  • Read and follow blueprints, schematics, work instructions, SOPs and checklists.
  • Perform quality-control checks as required and/or directed by established standards.
  • Support the shipment of Satellite Shop related items by using proper packing methods and supplies.
  • Operate overhead cranes, lift trucks, or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist Satellite Shop related materials in an orderly fashion.
  • Perform all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
  • Follow all safety regulations.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of and request or obtain replenishments for Satellite Shop related materials and supplies.
  • Provide on-the-job training to new and temporary employees.
  • Back support other AM shop team members during periods of inactivity with rebuild work, such as other material repairs, shipping/receiving, and inventory management.
  • Provide feedback, technical insight, creative ideas, testing and prototyping, etc. to continuously improve Westfalia AS/RS and APS Satellite technology. 


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Fork truck driver’s license or ability to obtain one.
  • Ability to work in situations of elevated urgency, work overtime, occasionally after hours in case of emergency shipments.
  • Ability to frequently lift shop environment type loads.
  • Ability to safely use hand, power, and pneumatic tools.
  • Ability to operate overhead crane up to 15 tons.



  • 3+ years’ experience in machine assembly or relevant position.
  • Hands-on experience in administering orders in a manufacturing or OEM environment.


Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with a variety of our field’s concepts, practices and procedures for electro-mechanical equipment/automation.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Dynamics or any other ERP System.
  • Ability to speak Spanish or German is a plus.
