The Accounting Services Specialist is responsible for processing assigned client engagements within the department in a cost-effective and professional manner including, but not limited to, computer-compiled financial statements, and payroll tax/sales tax reporting. This position will also be heavily involved in various one off and ongoing client and department related projects. There is one-on-one communication with clients. This position will assist with internal training of staff to serve our clients efficiently and effectively.

Essential Job Functions:

•Process financial statements and all related payroll, or sales tax returns personally assigned within the accounting services department
•Assist with quality control review of workpapers and computer-generated compilations processed within the department
•Assist in review of all payroll and sales tax reports, including annual W-2’s and 1099’s
•Various one off and ongoing client and department projects
•Perform research on technical matters as directed by directors
•Assist department head and directors with special client projects
•Efficiently maintain daily record of time spent on engagements
•Travel to clients as needed.


Education and Experience:

•Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
•5+ years public accounting experience is preferred


•Strong communication skills, both oral and written
•Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, in particular Excel and Word
•Ability to work in a team environment
•Ability to manage time and meet specific deadlines while juggling multiple projects
•Proficient knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Desktop
•Ability to interface with a variety of management levels
