Personal Trainer

Park District of LaGrange, LaGrange Fitness is looking to add a Personal Trainer to join the team! La Grange Fitness is a 9000 sq. ft. community-based fitness center with over 80 pieces of cardiovascular and strength equipment, including over 45 group fitness classes weekly.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides quality, personalized exercise programs based upon individual's health history, abilities, limitations, needs, goals and objectives. Established programs must be safe and effective and must be in accordance with industry standards, ACSM, NSAM, NSCA, ACE guidelines.
  • Provides fitness supervision and exercise instruction. Demonstrates appropriate use of equipment, offers instruction on fitness techniques, and recommends corrective adjustments. Assures member is exercising in a safe and effective manner to achieve desired results.
  • Follows general personal training guidelines and procedures. This includes contacting clients in a timely manner, ensuring appropriate client information and payment is complete prior to training, and observing all additional appropriate policies.
  • Maintains accurate records and logs of established exercise programs. Follows through with current and past clients regarding their progress.
  • Maintains consistent contact with Facility Manager regarding client and program-related issues.
  • Provides a high level of support and encouragement to help motivate members.
  • Supports personal training program and facility aims by attending appropriate meetings and participating in specialty programs, promotions, and special events. Supports marketing efforts of personal training program by promoting individual personal training services.
  • Continues education by attending workshops or pursuing additional certifications within the field to stay current with information and industry trends.
  • Meets uniform standards and represents Park District of La Grange in a professional, courteous, and enthusiastic manner.
  • Treat every customer with courtesy, respect, and friendliness.
  • Ensure the safety of all participants and the protection of Park District property.
  • Refer customer to Fitness Supervisor when necessary.
  • Return calls, set up appointments and complete sessions in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience as a personal trainer.
  • CPT Certification or License required, must be nationally recognized.
  • CPR Certified
